Food tasting for National Day Special // The DRx Medispa Trichology

Celebrate Singapore's independence along with local favourite dishes with an extraordinary upgrade

Happy birthday Singapore!
I'm really happy to be one of the first invited for a dinner food tasting at Crown Plaza Changi Airport.
Crowne Plaza Changi Airport commemorates National Day with iconic local dishes with a twist!
I'm a fan of laksa, hokkien mee, satay etc so I was really excited to taste the more atas version of these :p

Loving how healthy my hair is here after my DRx Medispa trichology experience.

This place looks fabulous for a cozy date or simple family affair!
And their dessert bar is super love, I couldn't resist. It was worth every calorie ;)

From 1 to 17 August 2014, Singaporeans may indulge in their favourite local delights with specially imported ingredients and larger portions to celebrate the heritage and culture that Singapore has built.

Boston Lobster Laksa with Angel Hair Italian Noodles ($ 28 ++)

This is a special treat to those who are lovers of Laksa and Boston Lobster. Influenced by one of the hotel’s most popular dishes, the chef substituted the traditional thick beehoon with perfectly cooked Angel Hair Italian Noodles and topped it up with juicy Pacific Clams and mouth-watering Boston Lobster for an enthralling delight.

Can fight with Katong Laksa! But only better because the ingredients are more premium.
My favourtie dish!!

King Crab Hokkien Noodles in Clay Pot ($ 32 ++)

Originating from the Fujian province of China, the Hokkien Noodles, consisting of yellow noodles and beehoon are tastefully braised in a flavourful stock and garnished with chives, crispy pork belly, baby squid and calamansi. To give it a little finesse, the noodles are served with succulent sea asparagus and luscious Alaskan King Crab in a nostalgic Clay Pot.

Satay Marinated Australian Rib Eye ($ 35 ++)

Taking inspiration from a dish that has a widespread popularity, their kitchen marinates the Australian Rib Eye with Satay spices and grill it to perfection. The Rib Eye is served alongside a medley of root vegetables and a specially concocted peanut gravy to give a flavourful punch with every bite.

Like all the unique dishes that we are presenting, Tiger Radler is a combination of locally produced Tiger Beer and natural lemon juice which creates a refreshing sensation. Enjoy a bottle of Tiger Radler on us with every ala carte dish ordered and cheers to the success of Singapore’s past 49 years.

The National Day Special Ala Carte dishes can be enjoyed at Azur or Lobby Lounge. To make a reservation at Azur, please call 6823 5354 or email azur.cpca@ihg.com. The DRx Medispa: Trichology

Because vain pot me LOVE having light coloured hair, the frequent strong chemical dye has taken a toll on my poor scalp! As such, I starting experiencing hair fall which is totally not cool for a young girl like me! *sob sobs*
I know it's tough but I made the effort to maintain having dark coloured hair so that I don't have to keep toughing up my roots.

And also..... I made my first visit to The DRx Medispa for Trichology to seek treatment!

I started with an intensive hair scan by this lovely lady here, Peggy. You could tell from our expressions how embarrassed I was while taking the scan and Peggy was amused.Truth be told, my scalp really wasn't in its best condition. I was like "nooooo that cant be" when I saw my scan.
Thank god I did not scare the hell out of Peggy!!
She sat down after that in a calm and composed manner and started giving me advise on how I should take it from here. Okay, I know it sounds quite serious but I think this is necessary. I'm just so thankful I can now fix my scalp issues at The DRx Medispa and say goodbye to my nightmare.

DRx Purifying Treatment:
I was recommended this treatment to deep cleanse and unclog my pores so that it can breathe better. Clogged pores prevent my hair from its natural hair growth which explains the hair thinning.
The DRx Medispa was also featured on Harper's Bazaar for their award winning scalp treatment.

The therapist massaged some nourishing serum on my scalp and used a steamer like device to set in it followed by an intensive hair wash.
This is to loosen up the clogged areas before adding "fertilizers" to treat the scalp. After adding in the good stuff, a laser light is used  to stimulate hair growth.
The whole experience takes about 1.5hour- treatment is 90mins and consultation before the treatment is 30mins.
It was so relaxing I felt like a pampered tai tai!
HAHAHA i love it.

After the treatment, my scalp never felt cleaner and healthier. I can bid goodbye to oily scalp and flat hair!
And thanks to their ionic Korean thong that is non damaging to the hair, i can look great for my food tasting event that evening.
So here's the deal.
My readers are entitled to the Tricho Purifying Treatment (U.P. $188) at special price of $38 only!!!!!!
That’s a whopping 80% off.
Simply code “Blogger Sheena Phua $38 Purifying Treatment”.
Even for existing DRx customers, you still get to enjoy the discounted rate as long as you haven’t had the Purifying Treatment experience before!

21 On Raja

A couple of nights ago I had a delightful food tasting dinner @ 21 On Raja. The food was really YUMMY especially their desserts. Initially I set a limit for myself and that is to just try a small bite out of everything but NOOO I was wrong, I finished every bit of sinful goodness there was. I figured it was either I'm horribly lack of discipline or the desserts were just out of this world!

I love having red wine to go with my cuisines because it washes out the flavour and gets my taste palette ready for the next dish.

Manager Keshavan specially asked the bar to prepare this Blue & Berries Crunch mocktail for me. I like its refreshing taste. So sweet of him!

Smoked eel crostini for starters

as well as Bacon prawn roll

and Grilled chicken satay in Balinese spices

For the mains I had:
Jumbo prawns with Dill and Saffron Paella (top left)
Marseilles Seafood Bouillabaisse (top right)
Moroccan Harira with Chicken and Garbanzo Beans
Stewed FIllet of Danish Cold Water Halibut "Lisbon Style"
Dessert- Penneone bread & butter pudding with dates

Dessert- Dark Chocolate fondant with raspberry coulis
Saving the best for the last :)
P.S the warm chocolate oozes out when you gently poke it with a fork! Goes well with the mashmellow and ice cream. Mmmmm mm!

MAD Restaurant

Hihihi! I'm back with another entry since there's no school today! Prior to my previous post, I'm sure many of you were curious about the food tasting event I was talking about. So here comes
PART 2!!!!

Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted with the fantastic ambiance and friendly PR staff. Then they handed me an envelope which looks like this with my name on. I was quite excited as this would be my first ever food tasting event!!! I always wonder how it would be like to be a food critique. So here's my chance! #likeaboss

MAD stands for Modern Asian Diner. As the name of the restaurant suggests, it is a fun and exciting dining experience and I couldn't agree more.

Check out their cosy settings

The velvet zone has more privacy. Good for first dates!

Excited much!

And in case you haven't got enough of William's awesome photography
here's more of his visual attack of food porn! ENJOY!!!

This one in particular caught me eye because it's too cute! OMG! Look at the little rubber duckie.

Sipping on my Ippanemamist (Lemon sorbet, vodka, passion fruit).
